What our guests said about us?
Great place. A little difficult to find in the dark. Clean and comfortable
It was very comfortable and well-equipped. our host was very kind and provided excellent breakfast options, including banana bread. Nice house.
Had a wonderful stay. The host Gary was very responsive and flexible. He left us some snacks and basic amenities, and gave a tour of the apartment when we arrived. The apartment is beautiful and both beds comfortable. We found the ambience very enjoyable and the environment quiet and peaceful.
It was a beautiful property, host made us feel at home, very clean and well stocked. Host went out of his way to help us with what we needed. Great value as well!
We only stayed a short time but it was very comfortable and would be perfect for a longer stay too! Our host was exceptionally friendly and genuinely invested in our comfort.
Great stay, Gary is a great host. Great place to relax and close to all of the action in Poughkeepsie.
Very nice, charming, newly renovated apartment that maintains the original character of the house. Host was friendly and responsive.
Great location in a beautifully renovated victorian house with everything you need. Our host was very kind, hospitable and helpful. The house is in a quiet neighbourhod but still close to stores and restaurants downtown. Couldn’t be better!
Gary was always helpful and willing to be more helpful. The place was charming!!
Gary was extremely kind, and responsive, and went out of his way to make sure our group felt welcome and enjoyed our stay. Would recommend it to all my friends and any stranger. You will not be disappointed!
Gary was such a great host, really made us feel like we were in a home away from home. The location was great and although there was space in front of the house. There's parking on location. The beauty of the house was mirrored inside and out.
Gary is very friendly and responsive. Upon check-in he gave us a thorough tour of the beautiful apartment, which was well furnished with everything we needed and more. Off-street parking behind the house is very secure. The street is very quiet and yet close to major roads through Poughkeepsie. Definitely would stay again (and hopefully for a longer time!).
Host was friendly. Gave us a tour the the house next door which he plans to develop into additional units. He is very skilled on several fronts as he plans to restore these old houses, and then down the road might offer electric bike rental, BBQ, and other things. He also is a skilled cook, and made us a lovely fruit/nut cake for breakfast. Free parking at the rear of house. Bed was comfortable. TV was simple to operate. Air-conditioning worked. Immediate neighborhood was a historic district with many interesting houses but a high number of them were in need of repair. We folks like our house, the town should be able to fix itself.
I have traveled around the world, lived in three countries and across the states, and have had my share of travel adventures, but none of that prepared me for the experience of entering the apartment I rented in Poughkeepsie last week. I had been in a hurry in making preparations for a meeting with a friend at Vassar College and honestly did not care much about my lodgings. I was focused on my work. Entering this Victorian house was like walking into a past world, almost a destination in itself! In fact, even if I have no more reason to go back to New York again, I might just go back to enjoy the delights of living in such an atmosphere! Every appointment was finished to the kind of level one would expect in a millionaire's dream. I do not know the story behind how this house was so lovingly restored, but maybe there's a novel in there (I am a novelist). Meanwhile, I just had to let people know about this hidden jewel.
